The Translate extension uses Google Translate to detect the language of the page that you are currently visiting and provides you the possibility to translate it in different languages.
When a page is detected to be written in another language, a bar will appear at the top of the page offering to translate it.
Preferences can be set to automatically translate or never translate specific languages. The native language to translate into is initially detected from the browser locale but can also be changed in the preferences.
To set preferences go to Tools -> Extensions -> Manage Extensions -> Preferences.
Privacy notice:
In order to work, the Translate extension must send a small snippet of each page you visit to Google`s translation server in order to determine the language.
If you click the button to translate, the full text of the page will be sent to the server for translation; for this reason, this extension is disabled by default on secure (https) sites.
This setting can be changed in the Preferences; if enabled, the text from secure sites will be sent over a secure connection to Google`s translation server.
Requirements:
· Opera 11 or later

New keyboard shortcuts:
· Cmd-Shift-R: will always translate the page (even if the bar isn`t showing).
· Cmd-Shift-X: will hide the translate bar.
· Quickly set the preferences to `Never ask` if you want to trigger translation with the keyboard only.
· The extensions no longer live-updates translations on dynamic pages due to the high risk of conflicts with other scripts on the page, but you can press Ctrl-Shift-R at any time to update the translation.
