MacIsing is a free and interactive Montecarlo simulation of the 2D Ising model for Mac OS X.
MacIsing implements a standard Montecarlo method and visualizes the results either as a grid of spins coloured according to the z-component direction (red for up and yellow for down) or to the local spin energy (from lowest in blue to highest in red).
Five different simulations can be performed by selecting the drop-down menu: · Homogeneous: the inter-spin coupling J is isotropic and set to the slider value J. · Random: each spin has a random coupling to the neighbours, in the range [-J,J]. · Interface: the middle third of the grid has a coupling constant -J, the outer parts a coupling constant J. · Wedge: the coupling increases from zero at the bottom and top parts, to J in the middle of the grid. · Checker J: the coupling alternates between +J and -J on neighbouring sites.

· Faster rendering, added nex-to-nearest neighbors interactions, fixed a bux of visualization in energy mode.
